Port Harcourt Electricity
Distribution Company – PHED is one of the eighteen (18)
autonomous off-shoot or successor companies from PHCN
Power Holding Company of Nigeria.
PHCN was broken up into (11) eleven
Distribution, (6) six Generation and (1) one
Transnmission Company following the power sector reform
programme which was signed into an Act by Mr President
on March 11th 2005.
Port
Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc. metamorphosed
from NEPA Port Harcourt Distribution Zone, into PHCN
Port Harcourt which was registered as public liability
company under the companies and Allied Matters Act of
1990 with effect from 8th November 2005 and was granted
operational license in the Distribution and Marketing
sector in 2006 by NERC |

various clientele. As one of the major zones, responsible
for the distribution of generated electricity in Nigeria, we
